Forget Tupperware Parties – Former Paralegal Sells “Excitement”

I like the original headline from News 8 Channel better, “Paralegal Finds Happiness Selling ‘Romance Enhancers’” but it was taken.

I know those of you like me – married with kids – probably initially thought the same thing when you read that headline. What are “romance enhancers”? (For me, they’re vacuum cleaner tracks in the carpet that I didn’t make myself.)

Turns out they’re toys to add spice to grown-up relationships, and former Washington, D.C. paralegal Catherine Finkelman is earning a six-figure annual salary having slumber parties to sell them.

She got a franchise with an international distributor and created Slumber Parties by Catherine. Like Tupperware parties, but she sells romance enhancers. After just four years, Finkelman has hundreds of women working for her. She’s raking in a six-figure salary and ranked as one of the best individual sellers of sex toys in the world.

Finkelman says having Slumber Parties beats working 60 hours a week as a paralegal.

Sounds like it beats selling Tupperware, too.
