Legal Assistant Sells Wedding Ring to Provide for Handicapped Son

Times are tough, and even with a full-time job and health insurance, sometimes it’s still not enough to get what you need, as Liz Dunda, a legal assistant in Milan, Maryland, reported to The Huffington Post.

Dunda, a single mom, sold her wedding ring – and also her bed – on Craigslist to raise the funds to get a handicap-accessible van and a bathroom in her home remodeled to allow wheelchair access for her son.

“I used to lift him into the bathroom, but he’s 15 now and weighs as much as I do,” Dunda said. “He has to shower at my parents’ house. We can’t fit the wheelchair into the bathroom.”

In my book, a mom who sells her bed to provide for her child is a real hero.
