Legal Secretaries of Cape May County Announce Scholarship Winner

I love to see legal support staff organizations that include scholarship awards in their annual projects. About a million years ago, when I was a single mom pursuing an associate degree in paralegal studies, a $500 scholarship award from a local professional women’s association made a big difference in my life.

So I am pleased to see that the Legal Secretaries of Cape May County annually awards a $500-$750 scholarship to a graduating Cape May County high school senior who plans to enroll in the ABA-approved paralegal studies program at Atlantic Cape Community College, or to a returning ACCC paralegal studies student who resides in Cape May County, New Jersey. The group held a “Hollywood-themed evening of food, fun and a Chinese auction” to raise funds for the scholarship on April 28, 2010

The winner of the 2010 Legal Secretaries’ Scholarship is Barbara Montgomery (left), shown receiving the award from the group’s president, Michele Devine-Hartnett.
Practical Paralegalism congratulates Montgomery for earning this year’s scholarship, as well as Legal Secretaries of Cape May County for its commitment to making a difference in the lives of deserving paralegal students, as well as its involvement in various community projects.
