Paralegal Career Dressing: Are Khaki Slacks an Office Uniform?

A few months ago, one of my Twitter paralegal buddies guessed I was wearing khakis and a cardigan, which I thought was amusing, because I didn’t own any khakis, although I know many people who work in a business casual environment do.

Because I still needed smaller pants, I bought a pair of khaki slacks from Banana Republic, very much on sale. This was taken before Christmas, on one of our unseasonably warm winter days. I didn’t even need a coat. (My personal office assistant is also in this picture 🙂

Logan cut khaki slacks (Banana Republic); No iron shirt (@$11 Banana Reputlic); Cardigan (@$12 Marshalls clearance); Belt (Ross); Shoes (can’t remember and see ’em ’cause pants too long!)

Do you consider khaki slacks to be an essential wardrobe item for the office?
