Paralegal Career Dressing: Foggy

Paralegal Career Dressing: Foggy

This is going to be a short, possibly miserable little post. But Dear Hubby took the pics, so they’re better than usual (have got to find time to order wireless remote for the camera), and the fog made a very cool background.

Loft dress ~ 50% off Loft Outlet, so real cheap
Obi Belt ~ Megan Mae Daily (it has dragons on it!)
Cardi ~ Rue 21 when I took the Teens
Clifford & Wills t-strap pumps ~ thrifted for under $10, ridiculously comfortable
Cuff bracelet with flowers and rhinestones (yay!) ~ $1.78 Steinmart Red Dot clearance rack

The Teen did get to go home last night, but the Sickle Cell pain event never really resolved. She’s had increasing pain today, and unless a miracle happens and this situation turns around fast, we’re just waiting for her to say the word regarding going back to the hospital. Of course, it’s the last place anyone wants to spend her 16th birthday, but we also don’t want her to reach the hours and hours of unbearable pain she endured two Sundays ago before the docs could get her knocked out with enough IV opioids to fell the biggest elephant you can imagine – and half his herd.

From a paralegal perspective, I’m lucky that our immigration software is now in The Cloud (EIMMIGRATION Air), so I can use it anywhere, and that I’ve already worked a bunch of hours this week. So, have laptop, cloud software, and the ability to hold hands, keep docs (doctors and documents) straight, and produce work. And yes, I am very, very tired.

But not too tired to enjoy a good bracelet 🙂

Plus, very soon I can announce some very exciting news in regard to my oldest daughter, The NYC Costume Technician!

  1. Aww, no. I'm sorry she'still feeling pain. Hopefully if you do have to do a hospital run, it will help her.

I love that you're wearing your dragon belt. It looks fabulous with the printed dress. You always do the best pattern mixing.

Hang in there, Lynne! *lots of hugs*

  2. All I can say is, wow! You are still looking amazing despite all the push and pull of life recently. I send you a great big cheer.

I feel terrible about The Teen's pain, and for her 16th no less! If we can send robots, to Mars don't you think we can take care of pain here? I hope it disappears tonight!!! Hang in there, everyone.

  3. With all the hard, important stuff you're struggling with, focus your energy on that and don't worry about blogging. Get your strength back. We'll wait.

  4. First, I love your outfit! It looks great and you do not look tired! I have found lots of fun stuff at Rue 21 when taking my own teen in. Second, I am so sorry the Teen has suffered so much with pain. Sounds like the baseline lately has been pain, and I think many of us cannot even imagine it. Third, cannot wait to hear the news about your oldest!

    xoxo
    Lynn

  5. This whole outfit is so flattering on you, I am really drawn to the shoes and love how you funked up the ensemble with Megan's obi belt! Hope your teen feels better soon!

  6. Aaaargh–I want to know the oldest daughters' news. I have my fingers crossed that all goes well for the Teen's 16th. What is planned?

And you are a lovely bright spot in this foggy morning.

  7. Oh Lynne, how hard it is for Lovely Teen, and for you. I understand that you don't feel it's always true, but those of us looking on from the sidelines are amazed at your strength, resilience and good humour in the face of troubles.
And you are so tired and yet so glamorous – how DO you manage that?! The fog adds a certain moody romance to your gorgeous dress and cardigan combo, great belt too.
Looking forward to hearing your older daughter's exciting news. xxxxx

  8. Hi, I just found you blog and I really liked your outfits, and this one is not exception! I am amazed that you can look soo good at the same times as your have to face a lot of worries I assume. Best get well wishes from a blogger sister

  9. Been thinking of The Teen and your family so much – I very much admire your capacity for keeping "docs" of every kind in line at times like these. 🙂

The greys in your obi and shoes add a lovely depth to your outfit, which is perfect with the bright cardigan. I was thrilled to receive my MMD buttonflower package which included one in the same or very close dragon fabric – fantastic when "fierce" is called for!
