Paralegal Career Dressing: Pumpkin Latte

I think if you’re a style blogger, you’re supposed to use pumpkin latte in a sentence. Or drink one.

No way.

Please ignore the darn winter static cling in my HAIR.
The Deets: Rafaella Studio jacket (Steinmart clearance); Jennie & Marlie tank (Steinmart sale); Talbots trouser jeans (thrifted); Necklace (Loft clearance); Vintage silver bracelets (eBay); Clarks loafers (Rack Room)

Turns out I had two orange-y items that fall into the color pumpkin category. I dunno if it’s due to my sort of ghostly, anemic pallor, combined with my newly wine-colored hair (shoulda pointed that out for yesterday’s post), but they both were too big and looked horrible on me.

Ixnay orange.

But I did have a blouse with orange in it. And blues and other colors that didn’t make my face run away screaming when placed next to it.

Also, I discovered my boss’s office is way better for quickie indoor pics. She has a low ceiling with overhead fluorescent lighting and more windows.

And orange in her throw pillows ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Get with the pumpkin programme, Lynne, it REALLY suits you! The shirt looks great, and your always fabulous legs look even more amazing than usual in those tailored jeans.
Yes. Pumpkin is good. Pumpkin latte sounds vile, however.
Got me thinking I might need some orange in my life tomorrow… xxxxx

  2. OK, I'm taking up for pumpkin latte – from 7-Eleven, and with a dollop of whipped cream, it's yummy.

Now for your look — love it, esp with those fab jeans. The blouse and your hair are perfection together!

  3. Ahh yes, I see the new shade in your hair and I love it! I'm going to do something bolder next time I go in. Maybe purple?? I know you like it too. It's so darn tempting, especially for me as I get to work from home.

And I agree with the others, orange is great on you!

  4. You look professional and stylish…and beautiful…all at once. Not an easy feat!

Nice hair color. It looks great on you.

I have a little bloggy award for you on my blog. Hope you'll come over and take a look.

  5. I think orange looks amazing on you! That print is totally gorgeous. I really don't like pumpkin lattes – too much cinnamon and spice! Yuck. I like cloves, but it's a pity people think "pumpkin flavor" = cinnamon spices.

  6. You are certainly doing this colour challenge justice, you sneaky paralegal! Bwa-ha-ha! (sorry) I would drink a pumpkin latte and I'm glad your face didn't run away!! LOL. I love your fantastic blouse. And the teal in your last post is dreamy. I love your hair!

  7. Well I think that this blouse looks just lovely on you Lynne. I love the flavor of pumpkin but I do agree–bloggers can way overkill on the pumpkin sometimes. Good grief.

  8. Hey Lynne! Those pants look great on you, first of all. Second, I think the shirt looks awesome on you, but I know for myself that there are certain colors I have to be sooo careful with: yellow, orange, green. I look so sallow in some colors! You did a great job of pulling in a color that you might not wear otherwise. I am going to try to muster up the energy to find either mustard (I NEVER EVER WEAR THAT COLOR) for today's challenge, or gray for tomorrow. Maybe I'll do the gray!!

  9. Well Lynne, you did a great job with pumpkin. Love the blouse with that jacket color of pinky, mauve, taupe…? I have not been able to get it together at all on this challenge thing. Even when I have the colors to wear!

  10. He he, I take pictures in my boss's office sometimes too. I like the orange on you! I don't think it's too much! I do like that it has some other colors though too.

And I don't do pumpkin lattes but I like a good pumpkin bread!

  11. I'm loving your hair and the pumpkin color, I think, is beautiful. Maybe because orange is one of my favorite colors. However, once it becomes a favorite it can pop up anywhere. Like hats!

  12. This outfit is really wonderful on you – blouse is pretty and interesting, and I love the ruffle detailing, great trouser jeans, and touches of silver set it off perfectly. Nicely done! A+ for orange, Lynne!

Never had a pumpkin latte – and pumpkin is a blogger "thing"? Hadn't a clue, lol.
