Paralegal Career Dressing: Upstaged

I’ma tell the truth. These pictures were taken at the end of the day on Friday, and I had already taken a wee nap. I thought if I included my pups, Phoebe the Corgi, and GizMo the Cairn Terrier, that peeps would be distracted from my baggy sleep face.

But the air was crisp and cool, and both dogs were full of Dog Beans, as you can see from the pics. I’ll just let them tell the story.

Lightened up a bit because of the dusk.
The Deets: Old Navy sweater (Goodwill); Skinny Jeans (Loft); Clarks loafers (Rack Room); Yves Saint Laurent scarf (gift from Megan Mae); Cami (Rugged Wearhouse); assorted bracelets, including dog one
Puppy School Dropout
Right after The Absent-Minded Professor turned off the camera, GizMo started to run full tilt up the street and knocked me on my ass. So happy the camera was off.
Hope you guys had great weekends!

P.S. I’m linking up to the beautiful Patti at Not Dead Yet Style’s Visible Monday. I hope you’ll check out the highly visible women of all ages at this wonderful weekly feature.

  1. Lynne, you look about 12 in these photos – I should be taking more naps if they make you look so young! I see no sleepy face at all, just my smiling, gorgeous friend! Love the mustard jeans, but then you always look amazing in jeans.
Wish I could have seen the pic of you knocked on your bum by the dog! xxxx

  2. PUPPIES!!! Oh I love corgis – we have friends that have two corgis named Elvis and Priscilla and they are a hoot. Too much fun.

LOVE your mustard pants. I have to tell you, I just couldn't take it anymore, even though I'm technically on a shopping ban, there's a newer Goodwill not far from me and I had to go on Saturday. While I was there I seriously was like "what would Lynne do?" as I pondered each item! And yes, I bought a couple of things – likely to debut during Megan and Keely's color challenge week.

    And I am weak. LOL.

    • Heh, Beth, actually you did exactly what Lynne would do: go to GoodWill for some retail therapy. It's hard to get in too much trouble there πŸ˜› Can't wait to see your purchases!

  3. At first I was really distracted by two of the cutest pups I think I've ever seen. But then I saw how awesome your outfit was. I love how the scarf plays with the yellow jeans and the desaturated blue keeps the color palette just right.

    Even misbehaving they're adorabuhls.

  4. So glad you shared this moment with us. The colors (and layering of said same) in your outfit are beautiful and I love them with your hair color. Your doggies are cute too. Looks like y'all are having fun!! That's a good thing, and contagious. XXOO

  5. I've always loved an Under Dog, and a school drop out is even better. Such darling pictures today. And the dogs are cute too. πŸ˜‰

  6. Aw Lynne! How sweet are your pups??? My mom has a corgi named Morky and I loves him so much. I really love all your bright colors today (er, Friday), Lynne. These yellow pants are awesome on you!

  7. I get my BEST sleep in my afternoon naps and then i'm worthless for the hour it takes me to fully wake up after. I'd say you look great after your nap and I love the 4th photo of you kneeling with the dogs.

  8. I agree with Curtise, you look so cheeky and fresh faced here. Your dogs are such cuties and the mustard pants & bright scarf look brilliant. x

  9. Awwwww, doggies! I saw the leash in the small photo on Patti's page,so I just HAD to look (crazy dog lover here). And oh my goodness, are they adorable. You look both well-dressed and well-rested! I think animals in outfit photos may be a great idea for all of us — they bring out our soft, loving side, which always looks good. (But those kickass colors you're wearing don't hurt, either!)

  10. Puppies!! I wanna Corgi and name him Thor so I can call him "Thorgi". MUwahaha!!

I love the color of these pants, so perfect for this time of year πŸ™‚

  11. hahaha! it's SO hard to get them to behave. fortunately my basset mix is trained for the camera and just sits in front of it whenever i get it out. like 'okay, yeah, gimme the treat, thanks…you don't have one…i'll wait here for you to go get one.' i love the picture of phoebe pulling the leash – teemo does that at the dog park a lot! or he pulls the other dog like that.

but annyyyhowww i love these colors together. gold pants are the best.

  12. I love colored pants so much. I have an entire drawer full, it's getting to be a problem. When you find them so cheap, it's hard to resist!

  13. This is not helping with my desire to acquire a dog. It's not helping with my desire to acquire more colourful skinny jeans, either. You and your pups look wonderful.

  14. Cutest doggies!! But aren't dogs a pain to bring along when taking outfit photos?
Mustard pants…I never would have thought they could look so great! I like how you paired them with deep red and navy.

  15. Thank you! Have been throwing tops at my own mustard jeans to see what works, but I like your color combo better! Will copy shamelessly, with your permission. Divine puppies … love, love, love.

  16. I just love this outfit and these colors. You've given me a good idea on how to wear a couple of sweaters I didn't know how to style. Thanks! πŸ™‚
