Practical Paralegalism’s Recommended Reading this Week

One of the many reasons I blog for paralegals and legal professionals by any other name is to share information they may find helpful for professional development (or simply entertaining during a fast-paced week). Once a week (or less often when Life happens) I share links to a half dozen or so articles focusing on legal news, practice tips, technology, and career dressing – plus a good laugh or two.

I also share the daily minutia of a paralegal and working mom at Practical Paralegalism’s Facebook page and via my Twitter feed, @ExpertParalegal.

Auto-correct is not very politically correct. Just sayin’.
Here’s this week’s links:

Paralegals, Roll Out! (A Paralegal’s Life) ~ Grumpy Humbug gives good advice for every-day paralegaling (hey, that’s a word in England).

What is a discovery subpoena? (LegallyBlog) ~ Sami Hartsfield is a talented civil litigation instructor via her blog. I highly recommend that students and litigation newbies add her blog to their RSS feed readers.

If it’s not Broke…Fix it Anyway (Clerical Advantage) ~ As a paralegal, you can never stop learning, at least if you want to succeed in the profession.

A Paralegal’s Memory Is Long (Bitter Lawyer) ~ We’ve all got a story like this one, I bet. But we’re all professionals and would never sabotage our co-workers, no matter how much trash they left on our desk. Right?

Let’s Take a Look at that X-Ray, on My iPad (PadGadget) ~ And let’s let our expert medical witnesses look at the x-rays on our iPads during depositions, too.

All Dogs Go to Law School? (Above the Law) ~ This is a great idea. I mean, I’m just a paralegal, and I have TWO therapy dogs.

Let’s All Sue Kim Kardashian (Lowering the Bar) ~ Even better, let’s just have the media agree to quit publishing photos and videos of her.
