Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, North Carolina, won the 2009 state title in the Wade Edwards High School Mock Trial Competition hosted by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice on April 4, 2009. North Carolinian Lorie Pacheco, who is working toward a paralegal degree at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, is among 20 community college students nationwide selected for USA Today’s 2009 All-USA Community College Academic Team, which includes a $2,500.00 cash award. Ms. Pacheco lived on the streets for two years, and is now a passionate advocate for the homeless.
