The Blog Formerly Known As Practical Paralegalism
“I consider the paralegal profession a career. Paralegals can do almost anything an attorney can do except represent clients in court, quote fees, and give legal advice….I never felt like I was missing out on anything by not going to law school and not being a lawyer.” ~ Paralegal Patricia “Pattie” Chouinard tells The Connecticut Law Tribune why she’s politely declined suggestions to become an attorney.
A few weeks ago I blogged about Chouinard, the first winner of the Connecticut Paralegal of the Year Award given by The Connecticut Alliance of Paralegal Associations. The Connecticut Law Tribune’s July 7, 2010 feature story about her, “Not A Lawyer? Paralegal Has No Regrets,” shows why she is so deserving of the award.
