Described by one victim as an “excellent actor,” this non-lawyer’s stint impersonating a lawyer did not pay. She has been ordered to pay back over $40,000 to her victims.

UPL, or the unauthorized practice of law, has serious life-altering repercussions. If you don’t have a license to practice law, don’t let anyone mistake you for a lawyer.


Why am I not mentioning the subject of this news story by name? Turns out criminals get Google Alerts and read blogs, and boy, do I have a doozy of a tale to share in a future post about the awesome now-fugitive I attracted with my previous civilian journalism.
