Kudos as well to Shearer’s employer who recognized her achievement on its website:
Ms. Shearer has been with Yoder, Ainlay, Ulmer & Buckingham for 16 years. Her primary area of expertise is in the initial set-up of organizations including for-profit, not-for-profit, and limited liability companies. She is also involved with mergers and acquisitions, and maintaining record books for corporate clients of the firm.
Ms. Shearer received her paralegal certificate, with honors, from Indiana University at South Bend in June 1999. She has presented seminars to paralegal students enrolled in the Business Organization class at IUSB.
Since 1999, Ms. Shearer has been an active member of the MPA where she has served on the Board of Directors, as the Membership Chair and as the National Federation of Paralegal Association’s (NFPA) Primary. She is the NFPA Director of Region III for the 2010-2011 term. She is also a member of the Paralegal Section of the Indiana State Bar Association.

If you haven’t already joined one of your area state and/or local paralegal associations, membership is a great way to get involved in the community, meet other legal professionals, and broaden your professional and personal horizons.
