Job Title: Senior Paralegal
Employer: Rice, Amundsen, & Caperton, PLLC; Memphis, Tennessee
Years of Paralegal Experience: 5
Education/Degrees: Summa Cum Laude; AAS in Paralegal Studies – General Practice
Specialty Areas: Family Law
Career Highlight: Volunteering with Wills for Heroes through my local bar association and earning NALA’s Certified Paralegal distinction. Oh, and attending my first NALA convention this year!!!
Paralegal Practice Tip: Checklists!! Anyone who knows me knows that I like lists. Okay, I love lists. In fact, I have several checklists I use often. However, don’t forget to use your checklists religiously; otherwise, they aren’t worth the sticky note they are written on!!
Favorite Internet Resource: Google!! Being in Family Law, one of the first things we do upon the client hiring us is a Google search on the opposing party. This is followed quickly by a search of “social networking” sites.
Favorite Legal Software: TimeMap – which is a tool within http://www.casesoft.com/
Do you use social media resources, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or blogs, for career and/or case development?
As I mentioned above, we use social networking sites often. Not only to monitor or follow-up on suspected extra-marital activity, but to gain information that otherwise would not be available to us. We not only use Facebook, Twitter, and myspace; but YouTube accounts and “dating” sites as well.
Fun Fact: Hmmm… you’ve stumped me on this one. Maybe there isn’t a FUN fact about me – only boring, routine facts!!
One Gadget You Can’t Live Without: Coffeemaker!!
Favorite Quote: She who has little and says it is enough has more than she who has much and wants more.
Paralegal/Legal Association Memberships: Greater Memphis Paralegal Alliance (GMPA); National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA)

Kudos to Andrea for obtaining NALA’s Certified Paralegal designation, as well as to her employer for announcing her achievement on its blog.
