The Stanislaus County Legal Professionals Association, an affiliate of Legal Secretaries, Inc., is offering local paralegal, legal secretary and court reporting students the opportunity to apply for over $8,000 in available scholarship money, including the Eula Mae Jett Scholarship. Per LSI’s scholarship page:
Legal Secretaries, Incorporated, offers scholarships to persons desiring a career in the legal field. The applications and accompanying documents for these scholarships must be presented through the local sponsoring association by the due date determined by the sponsoring association. If the local association in your area does not have a Scholarship Chairman, only then may applicants submit applications and accompanying documents directly to the LSI® Scholarship Chairman. The local association shall select the single application it desires to recommend for each Plan, and shall forward such recommended application(s) to the LSI Scholarship Chairman, postmarked no later than April 1.
The deadline to apply through the Stanislaus County Legal Professionals Association is March 1. Interested applicants for the local and LSI scholarships should contact Kelly at 209-499-0373. To find your closest association, check LSI’s local associations list.
If you are a paralegal student who has not yet joined a paralegal association, now is a good time to not only investigate scholarship opportunities through local and state associations, but to attend some meetings or CLEs at the discounted student price – to meet working legal professionals, gain the latest practical skills and find out which group is the best fit for you.
