Favorite Internet Resources: Since I work a lot with medical records and have to hunt down medical providers, the Medical Board of California Physicians License Lookup page, http://www.medbd.ca.gov/lookup is very helpful for me. In addition, I use http://icd9.chrisendres.com/index.php to look up ICD9 codes for medical billing. If I’m dealing with a medical provider who is not a M.D., I will go to the Department of Consumer Affairs lookup at http://www2.dca.ca.gov/pls/wllpub/wllquery$.startup. This website has links to virtually everything in California that you need a license to do.
Favorite Legal Software: Lexis, http://www.lexis.com/, is always a sure bet!
I use Facebook to network with other paralegals and paralegal associations.
Fun Fact: When I was 17 years old, I was on the front page of the local newspaper! I was photographed wading through river water that had flooded onto a sidewalk in downtown Greenville, NC.
