Paralegal Career Dressing: LBD for the Grown-up Little Witch

When I was a little girl, I was crazy about Dorrie the Little Witch. Which might explain my love of black clothes, especially the classic little black dress (LBD), as an adult. (I just can’t get away with Dorrie’s mismatched striped tights for work.)

I checked all the local thrift stores for an updated LBD for work, and when that failed, lucked into this Jones New York dress, with pockets, at our local Marshalls. Since I had set the dress budget at only $50, including shipping and handling, I got lucky!

I scored the Nicole booties at Ross Dress for Less for $14; they have little covered buttons on the side, and nice solid heels a klutz like me can’t resist. (I’m still afraid of my black high heels after falling off of them recently…)

Where do you stand on black clothes for work? Do you find yourself buying them all the time like I do – or are you more colorful with your career dressing basics?
